General Information
ENTRY: Athletes have the ability
to register either online or on-site. Please be aware that on-site
registration will include a $10.00 late fee. NO refunds for failure
to compete. The OFFICIAL WAIVER & REGISTRATION FORMS (available
at www.themat.com) must be accurately
completed and filed at registration. Participants MUST
present proof of current USA Wrestling Membership Card (actual card
or photo copy) at registration AND weigh-ins.
ONLINE REGISTRATION: Online registration
is available at www.themat.com. Deadline for online registration
is 6:00 PM (CST), Tuesday, March 11th, 2008. Entry fee for participants
registering online is $30.00 per athlete.
ON-SITE REGISTRATION (Cash ONLY):
Entry fee for participants registering on-site is $40.00 (cash only
- NO CHECKS) per athlete.
NO REGISTRATION BY MAIL WILL BE ACCEPTED!
INDIVIDUAL AWARDS: Awards will be
given to the top 8 individuals in each weight class in the Elementary,
Middle School, and High School divisions. Awards will be given to
the top 6 individuals in each weight class in the College division.
TEAM AWARDS (High School Division only):
The top - 3 State Teams will be determined by the highest individual
scorer in each weight class.
RULES: National Federation of State
High School Association scoring rules will govern the competition
for the Elementary, Middle School, and High School divisions. For
the College division, the current rules of FILA, with USA Wrestling
modifications where applicable, will govern the event and the competition.
UNIFORMS: Collegiate or girls' singlet
with underbriefs required. A sleeveless sport top is to be worn
under the singlet (no T-shirts). NO TWO PIECE UNIFORMS ARE
ALLOWED!
MEDICAL INFORMATION: Athletes must
be present in a COMPETITION SINGLET
and must submit to a skin disease screening prior to weigh-in. The
chief medical officer has full authority without appeal in determining
the eligibility of an athlete to compete. In the event of injury
or illness, no contestant will be permitted to continue the competition
without approval of the Chief Medical Officer, whose decision is
final and is not subject to appeal.

WEIGH-INS: Each
athlete will be allowed two consecutive attempts to make weight
and may not leave the weigh-in area. All wrestlers must be dressed
in a COMPETITION SINGLET for weigh-ins
and no weight allowance is given for the singlet.
ELIGIBILITY: All athletes who meet
the age group requirements, any existing state qualifying procedures
(see below) and are current members of USA Wrestling are eligible
to participate.
PAIRINGS: Double-elimination line-bracketing
with complete wrestle-bakcs to eighth (8th) place for the 1-5 Grade,
6-8 Grade, and 9-12 Grade Divisions. Double-elimination line-bracketing
with complete wrestle-backs to sixth (6th) place for the College
Division. When possible, wrestlers from the same state, club, or
school will also be separated.
COACHING: A floor passes is required.
Coaches floor passes will only be issued to those individuals with
a current USAW Coaches Membership Card and who are a minimum USAW
NCEP Copper certified (photo I.D. required). Coaches Membership
Cards should be obtained from your state office prior to the event,
however, will be available for purchase at the Copper Coaches Clinic.
Two certified coaches are the maximum allowed in each competitor's
corner. To videotape any match at mat side, the operator must be
one of the two certified coaches in the corner or have purchased
a video pass.
GATE: Event passes are available
and may be purchased at the ticket office.

Age Groups and Weight Classes
Grades 1-5: Girls currently enrolled in grades
1-5 (three-year maximum age difference); weight classes to be determined
after weigh-ins using blocked weight system witin 12% of each competitors
body weight.
Grades 6-8: 75 lbs, 82 lbs, 89 lbs, 96 lbs, 103
lbs, 110 lbs, 118 lbs, 126 lbs, 136 lbs, 145 lbs, 155 lbs, 155+
lbs (15 lbs maximum difference)
Grades 9-12: 95 lbs, 102 lbs, 109 lbs, 116 lbs,
123 lbs, 130 lbs, 138 lbs, 146 lbs, 155 lbs, 165 lbs, 185 lbs, 185+
lbs (25 lbs maximum difference)

College/Club Fair
Tables will be set in the lobby for all athletes to visit schools
currently offering women's wrestling opportunities in college.
Banquet Information
All wrestlers will have an opportunity to purchase tickets to the
College Women's Wrestling Banquet.
Banquet will be held Friday, March 15th, at the OCU Campus from
7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Banquet will include a Special Guest Speaker
(to be announced).
Tickets can be purchased at a rate of $15.00 per person.
USA Wrestling Membership
All contestants MUST present
proof of current USA Wrestling Membership Card at registration.
Membership Cards should be acquired from the State Chairperson
or State Membership Director of the contestant's state of residence,
but will be available for purchase at registration. Secondary sports
accident insurance is provided as a benefit of membership. No pre-qualification
required.
